My name is Scott Tomey (MS, LLP), I graduated from Eastern Michigan University in 2019, with my background in General Clinical Psychology. Previous experience includes completing my practicum with the University of Michigan - Dearborn Counseling and Psychological Services, followed by working with several clinics across the Detroit metropolitan area, and now I'm currently running my own private practice. In terms of therapeutic services, I offer a safe and compassionate space to work on developing essential skills, where one can gain deeper self-awareness and strengthen emotional regulation. Utilizing a client-centered approach, I am very easy to build a rapport with and I also I draw from a variety of evidence-based practices that can specifically meet your therapeutic needs.
I became a therapist because I've always been passionate about helping others navigate their struggles and find their paths to healing. Personal experiences and observations of how mental health can profoundly impact lives inspired me to pursue this field. I wanted to create a safe space for individuals to express themselves and feel heard. Additionally, I believe in the power of connection and empathy. I've seen how transformative therapy can be, not just for individuals, but for relationships and communities. Being a therapist allows me to support others in their journeys, facilitate personal growth, and contribute to a greater understanding of mental health. It's fulfilling to witness clients uncover their strengths and make meaningful changes in their lives.
